The problem
New starter tasks are scattered across emails, spreadsheets and messages. Line managers and HR teams have no single view of what has been done, what is missing and who is responsible for each step. Onboarding quality depends on individual memory and informal handovers.
What was built
A shared onboarding tracker that lists every task, document and milestone for each new starter. Ownership, due dates and status are visible to everyone involved. Automated reminders reduce missed steps, and a completion dashboard shows progress across all active onboardings.
Production considerations
Personal data handling, document retention policies and role-based access need to be addressed before production use, particularly for HR records with sensitive personal information.
